... Baby One More Time
  Video Sequence: First Video

Video Length: 3:53

Producer: Nigel Dick

Setting: The video took place in the exact same high school as the movie "Grease" was filmed in back in 1970. The classroom and lockers, as well as the gymnasium, are the exact same.

Plot: The story revolves around a girl who has broken up with her boyfriend, but now feels that she has made a terrible mistake and wants him back. Her journey to find him takes her to the lockers, then outside, and finally to the gym where he is at. In the gym he is on the bleachers, and she sits far away from him holding a basketball, occasionally glacing over to him from time to time. The teacher comes in finally, and sends everyone out of the gym, ending the daydream. Britney smiles at the end, reminiscing about her dream. If only she knew that her real life dream was about to come true..

Guest Appearances: The teacher in the video is actually Britney's chaperone and long time family friend, Felicia Culotta. The guy who played Britney's ex-boyfriend in the video is her real life cousin, Chad Spears.

Rehearsals: A big rehearsal section came about because this was Britney's very first video. They were necessary nevertheless to introduce Britney into the ever popular and changing world of creating a music video. There are 21 pictures of the rehearsal session up for viewing as well.

Changes: The beginning idea for this video was to have Britney in a Power Ranger type action role. After a little bit of convincing and talking to Nigel, Britney made the video a lot easier for teens to relate to with the schoolgirl approach. Also suggested by Britney was the tieing up of the schoolgirl shirts for easier dancing and just to be more comfortable. If only she knew that the one thing she suggested would end up being so controversal, and not to mention very cool.

First Reaction: The first time Britney saw this video, she was with some friends in a hotel room. When it played, they all went crazy yelling and screaming all over the place.
